The initial stages of Building Design requires in depth feedback from Hydraulic Consultants to the architect. The
Co-ordination of Hydraulic & fire services in the early stages of design is critical to minimise disruptions and delays during the construction phase.

Most new buildings today require Hydraulic Design approval from the local authority, Fire Brigade and Private Certifier prior to the commencement of works.
Inspectors & certifiers will not accept designs that do not adhere to local and national standards.
At HDS we always take the time to investigate individual council requirements & are always up to date on the latest Australian standards & Building Codes of Australia legislation.

HDS can provide complete Hydraulic design packages for builders & developers.
Tender drawings will detail all aspects of the design sufficient for plumbing companies to put together a quotation for a full installation.
Construction drawings will show a detailed design of the Hydraulic system to enable the plumber to understand exactly where all Hydraulic pipe work & equipment is to be installed. Both of these packages will be completely co-coordinated with all other disciplines & reflect the latest Architectural & structural background.

Upon completion of new buildings but prior to final handover from the builder to the client, As Constructed drawings & Fire Service Block Plans must be provided.
HDS will work in closely with the plumbing contractor to ensure that these plans accurately reflect what has been installed on site.

For larger developments or where instructed by our clients, HDS will provide a full onsite supervision service.
This includes regular inspections to the site to review installation methods and procedures.
From inspections a report can be provided detailing any areas of concern or percentage completed to date for progress claim analysis.
Contract administration can be conducted remotely from site dealing with any other issue from general RFI’s to detailed contractual matters.

Specifications and fixture scheduling will generally be included at the tender/construction stage.
Our specifications will detail every component of the Hydraulic/fire system to enable the plumber to price and install the Hydraulic Design with full confidence.
HDS can also provide detailed and accurate Budget Estimates of the entire Hydraulic system. This enables builders/developers to compare tender prices or can be a preliminary estimate for overall construction analysis.
Audits or surveys can be conducted on existing premises to detail locations of the entire existing Hydraulic system if required. HDS will work in with & supervise pipe locators/plumbers/surveyors etc, so that an accurate plan can be produced detailing the system. This service is useful for maintenance programs or where extensions are proposed.

HDS are specialist design and construct Hydraulic Consultants. The senior designers began their career as Commercial Plumbers and know how to design systems to suit the installer. We take pride in ensuring our D & C type contracts are practical and cost friendly. If you are a Builder or Plumber you can have the confidence that HDS will work with you through the construction process and identify/ co-ordinate through any areas of concern.

O & M manuals and workshop drawings are generally the responsibility of the plumbing contractor. HDS can be engaged to fulfill this obligation. We will work in with the contractor to accurately produce the documents. Unique projects often require detailed workshop drawings for plant rooms or areas of a building congested with services. Our drafting team will overlay AUTOCAD files of other services so as the designers can identify clashes. This feature is also necessary when co-ordinating pipework within building structures. It's easy to indicate where pipes need to be cast into beams & transfer slabs.

HDS can be engaged as a separate and independent Hydraulic consultant to review and report on existing designs. This can often be required where cost savings are needed or the existing Hydraulic Consultant is not attending to the Contractors needs.
Designs can be rationalised and re calculated to ensure the client is maximising their value for money and not overspending on systems that are over designed.
The money spent on a redesign will often be minor as opposed to the amount saved on installation. An hour's design time can often save thousands on an oversized pipeline.
